Hi

another piece of info from ICB's Website .

:eek:Guidance for accountancy services providers (ASPs) under the money laundering Regulations (MLR) has been further delayed.

Members of the bookkeeping, accountancy and payroll professions and HMRC have agreed to adopt the money laundering guidance that has been written by the Consultative Committee of the Accountancy Bodies (CCAB). unfortunately this still has still to be ratified by HM Treasury

It is incredible that it is taking so long when the rules were tightened again.

It also means that unless accountants and bookkeepers are regulated by their professional bodies, they are regulated by HM Revenue & Customs.

Hi Paul

How correct you are.

i was told last year by the institute of certified bookkeepers , that unless i become a registered bookkeeper, i would not be allowed to practice.

this was another rule brought in by HMRC, so as you can see i had no choice but to register wth the ICB to entitle me to be able to practice bookkeeping privately.
