Hi All,

Got this peice of news form the ICB's website.

He already has the power to arrest, the British Taxman will also be able to intercept phone calls, emails and letters, as well as bug residential premisies and private vehicles.

The powers were granted to HMRC in the Serious Crimes Act, which gained Royal Assent in October, but did not come into force until the relevent statutory instrument was issued.

This was dated 15/02/2008, thought you might like to know about this

You have to wonder as to where it will all end. The Big Brother state is getting closer by the day. Whilst the argument that 'you have nothing to worry about if you are law abiding' is valid the gradual erroding of civil liberties is of concern.

One day we will all wake up and wonder how it happened and yet its happening right under our noses every day.

I can understand the government's desire to increase tax revenues, after all that what's businesses do every day ... think about how they can increase revenue ... but that's where the similarity ends.

Why? Because if cashflow is coming under strain business owners will look at overheads and expenses and see where the cuts can be made. How often do you hear '10,000 civil servants to go'? Rarely!

So Mr Brown - start thinking like a business man!

How right.

it does make you wonder how far they are gonna go in this big brother society. with all the CCTV cameras and everything makes you wonder what happened to todays free speech ( in which our Grandfathers and great grandfathers fought so hard for in the wars).

you have to stop and think What next............

When you aren't paying your taxes then any government will try and suck you dry to get the money they are owed.
