View Full Version : Hiring Employees
In my blog today I have listed a seven step process for hiring employees (http://www.smallbusinesssuccess.biz/forum/blog.php?b=13).
Have you got a process for finding and hiring the right employee? Or do you need one after a particuarly bad hire??

We are at the point where we are now really too busy for just us two and yet not really busy enough for a third person full time. We are looking to employ a p/t member of staff but I have to be honest and say I am terrified of it.
I will go and read your blog now :)

Samantha,
You are at that classic crossroads - which way do you turn - stay as you are and work your socks off, or put a bit of financial pressure on the business and take someone on.
It's a dilemma for sure but what you will find is that once you have the extra pair of hands on board this will leave you do the bigger things which to date have been a struggle to keep up with.
Getting rid of the day-to-day nitty grittty tasks can leave you free to hunt out new markets, new clients, new products, sort out your suppliers ... all the larger strategic things you don't have time to do at the moment.
I'm sure you'll will find that within 2 to 3 months you will have more than covered the extra cost via the new business you will have brought in.
And besides ... at least there is someone else to have a go at your partner!
