You may not know but Rob Warlow, creator of the Small Business Success Forum has written an excellent ebook to help small businesses to raise finance from banks.
It is called "The Secrets Of Getting Your Bank Manager To Say Yes"
I saw it before it was published and I know Rob made some changes but you can see my review of his book here:
How To Apply For A Small Business Loan (businesscoaching.typepad.com/business_books/2008/04/how-to-apply-fo.html)
or because you know Rob so you know it's going be great, you can buy your copy from
The Secrets Of Getting Your Bank Manager To Say Yes (http://www.smallbusinesssuccess.biz/e-book/secrets_getting_bank_say_yes.htm) (and no Rob I haven't sneaked in my affiliate link)
Paul,
Thank you for the plug but please edit your post to ensure your aff link is included - you have taken the initiative to mention it! I'm not a shameless marketer so will leave other people on this forum to market on my behalf!
The ebook refered to is over 240 pages long and encaptures 20+ years of banking experience, many of those dealing directly with small businesses. I feel the messages and ideas contained in it are practical and will help small business owners approach banks with more confidence.

That's why I thought I would mention your book and make sure that new people arriving to the forum knew about its existence.
Your book, your forum I think that you deserve the profit unless of course people only buy because of my glowing review.

Your local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) - free service - can help you research and write you business plan. As they are partly funded by the SBA - they can also give you all the information you need regarding SBA backed programs.
You can also call around to your local banks and ask if they offer SBA lending. I recently saw an SBA report from Karen Mills that stated that many local banks are now offering SBA products as the national lenders have been pulling back. This means many banks in your area that may not provided SBA loan in past - may be doing so now.
Contact these bank - find out who is doing it - get their application packages - take the package to your local SBDC or SCORE - and let them help you complete it - all for free (only requires your time).

Well, lending services are rather popular today as a lot of people experience tough financial times. Besides, some people apply for loans having some definite purpose, like starting personal business. Therefore, a lot of people take loans in order to fulfill their plans or just to improve the financial situation.

Yes but credit history also plays a dominant role for qualifying a business loan. If your credit history is good definitely, you qualify for business loan.

The ebook quoted in this post has since been superseded by a traditional print version which I launched last year. You can get it on Amazon and other online book stores - click the links in my signature and you'll read about it.
Zoyas, the previous post, is a useful summary of what's needed if you are looking to get a business loan.
