Dear all
Kindly visit our website www.iecedkerala.org and the section FEDPRO. This is the short form for Flexible Entrepreneurship Development Programme which we are going to start shortly. Kindly give your opinion, suggestion and comments on this innovative(?) business coaching programme.

Hi Jose
My own view is that you need to give more reason for people to download the pdf to effectively "sell them" on this next stage.
Jose,
I have to admire your vision of changing the lack of an entrepreneurial spirit in your region (your previous post refers).
My comments follow on from Paul's and certainly agree that there needs to be a clear reason for people to move to the next stage.
I had a look at the course overview and looks interesting. I like your take on who the course would suit – ‘wantrepreneurs’ who are people who really want to be in business as opposed to have to be in business because they are unemployed and have no other choice. The distinction you draw as regards the different motivations to start up is clear (this links in with another thread I started earlier today before looking at your question ( http://www.smallbusinesssuccess.biz/forum/showthread.php?p=135#post135 )
Focusing in on a description of the ideal participant is a good way of weeding out the less desirables!
One suggestion is that the brochure is very academic in its style. I guess that’s your background but you are looking to persuade people to part with their money to sign up. To get them to take action it needs to have a sales feel in its layout and copy.
For example, you have one bullet point on page 6 which says ‘to improve the communication skills of participants’. That’s too bland; it would not motivate anyone!
You need phrases such as:
‘After this course you will be able to ….’
‘This course will teach you how to …’
Your copy needs more ‘you’; what an individual would exactly gain from attending.
Raja, a member on this Forum I’m sure will have more to say on this and give you advice on how to ‘spice’ this up. Copywriting is his forte. Raja?
Hope that helps.

Hi Rob,
Thank you very much for the extremely helpful comments. By background is academics and i guess this is my major weakness from the point of view of selling an idea. I will make the vernacular brochure in accordance with your suggestions.

Jose
