I've written quite a lot about the benefits of Twitter for business, and am thinking of hosting an online chat with a few Twitter 'experts' to help people who may not be quite so sure about it.

Nikki is a leading expert on Twitter.

I use it for a bit of fun but I do need to be disciplined about how it consumes my time.

The idea of compressing a message into 140 characters forces you to be brief.

And I just don't seem to have mastered Tweetdeck so I am still manually logging in.

I may be seen as an expert, but if you're managing it via the Twitter website then I bow down to you! I couldn't do it, it's too clunky. I love Tweetdeck because it lets me organise things.

I'm in the middle of writing a short course (which is an introduction to a longer course) detailing a step by step way to run Twitter campaigns - watch this space!

I look forward to hearing about your e-course. I know very little about Twitter but keep seeing people refering to it. Have to confess that I have not even been to the site!

I think one main reason is that I sense I would get pulled into it - seems to be one those social sites which you have to work at. I know I would never get the best out it so best not to get distracted.

Hard enough job keeping on top of what I've already got on the go already.

Nevertheless I will be keen to learn more!

You are absolutely right.

I whinge about the time that I lose on there because someone posts something interesting - and it is often Nikki.

Find if you just want to ease back on a stressful situation but not good when you are really busy.

Some people are beginning to get big gains from it but you do need to create loyal followers.

I have found Twitter can be very useful if you have the right connections. If you don't, it can be a monumental waste of time.
