Hi

I am co-owner of a company which sells environmental monitoring and control equipment into museums, libraries, archives etc (and occassionally private residences and random industrial applications - such as salami curing or pig manure monitoring - did you know it explodes if it gets too hot? (pig manure not salami!))

I spend most of my time in the office - on my own :( and so enjoy meeting and learning from people via forums such as this. I read the sbs newsletter with my coffee when it arrives in my in-box so hopefully this place will be my first port of call EVERY morning. I dont have much business experience (3 years in Sept) but I will offer what I have.

Oh and my pet hate is when I end up getting spammed with loads of junk mail - I have left a couple of forums because there was no advice or help being offered - unless you paid for it. They turned into market places rather than helpful communities so I hope this place can be different. Oh dear - that makes me sound like a real grump lol

Hi,

Welcome aboard.

Exploding manure ... no wonder you spend time alone in your office!!

I very much hope that the Forum doesn't get 'spammy' so down to all us to prevent this happening.

I feel that over the years the readers to my weekly newsletter are honourable people but let's police ourselves. As I mentioned in my 'this is me' note, there is no big corporate body behind this, so I need all the help I can get to keep this forum on message!

HI LM

I think you will find there are alot of Women who are either working from home office (alone). or stuck in office by themselves day after day.

I work from home myself, and often have no one to talk to during the from the time the kids have gone to school till time they come home :( ( Still no adult conversation Though) :( , apart from the occasional time the postman knocks on my door with a parcel or package.

so i can totally sympathzie you with being stuck in the office all by yourself all day long, although there is a plus side to it and that is you'll get more work done without the men under your feet :)

To quote CAB's "there is a plus side to it and that is you'll get more work done without the men under your feet"...

Well if the post below is anything to go by and what LM has to put up with then this doesn't sound too bad a position to be in!
