Think and Grow Rich - by Napoleon Hill
'Think and Grow Rich' is considered by many to be the Granddaddy of all self
development or wealth creation books. It features in the libraries of nearly
all people who are interested in bettering themselves or who wish to learn
the laws of success.
Written by Napoleon Hill, this book was 20 years in the writing and came
about after an interview the young journalist Hill had with the Scottish US
steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. Always interested in what made people
successful Carnegie wished to search out reasons why successful people were
so. He saw something in Hill and challenged him to research the subject so
he could teach the world. The result of 100s of interviews and 20 years of
work was Think and Grow Rich.
His research narrowed the keys to success down to: harnessing your
thoughts; desire; use of visualisation and autosuggestion; gaining and using
knowledge; planning; persistence; building a mastermind group and facing
fear. Hill examines each of these building blocks to success and
demonstrates how you can take control of your future.
The simple and yet profound message of the book is that with the right
attitude and understanding of the power of your mind, you can achieve
anything. This belief is summed up by his famous line, "Whatever the mind of
man can conceive and believe it can achieve."
Written over 50 years ago, the language can seem dated at times and the
examples of people considered to be successful are taken from the early
1900's to 1930's yet the key message remains - you may have whatever you
want in life if you desire it enough.
An essential book in everyone's success library.
