The primary purpose of a traffic scam is to generate advertising revenue for their program. Since the major ad revenue companies will not allow artificial traffic, the traffic scam programs prey on new Internet users. New users are caught up in the excitement and thrill of having new websites, blogs and referral pages. They learn quickly that traffic is the key to success on the Internet and the potential to financial freedom. However, they do not realize the types of traffic on the Internet or that they can generate quality traffic for virtually nothing. One of the biggest hypes for selling traffic to sites is increasing page views, exposing your page to millions of people, increasing ad revenue and getting referrals. The traffic scam programs use some very elaborate and well-written ad campaigns to get new users to purchase traffic. They're big and have plenty of money to invest on ad campaigns to target new users. In fact, some are so well written that new users will feel a sense of doom if they cannot afford to buy traffic. One of the key features of the traffic scam programs is that they have one package that is always affordable for only a few dollars. This means that new users can invest very little and buy traffic. Sadly, most Internet users do not understand the importance of quality traffic. For example, a new user will purchase 1,000 page views. To a new user this seems like a huge amount of traffic. The counter on the page will go up by 1,000 very quickly. The excitement and thrill that the page was viewed so much then generates another purchase of 1,000 views. After all, the package deal is great and you don't have to spend much. What new users don't know is that this is junk traffic. There are automatic surfers that run in the background of your computer and not a single person out of the 1,000 or 2,000 or more saw those pages. Once a new user has seen the results on their website counter, they are thrilled. Before you know it they are purchasing even larger traffic packages from the traffic scam programs. Why? The larger packages offer bonus traffic. For example, you can receive an additional 10,000 page views for a limited time if you purchase a specific package. It is not until after several weeks or even several months that users realize that they didn't get a single referral, sell a single item or have a single click on their ad revenue blocks. After they've invested hard earned money it is too late and it is a lesson that many of us learned the hard way. New users don't realize that there are some terrific methods to generate traffic for free. Not only do you generate traffic, but you also receive quality visitors that are going to purchase a product, sign up as a referral or actually read and comment on blog postings. For example, you can invite your friends, relatives and co-workers to visit your site. They will be interested in what you have to offer and in reading your blog content. Often, these people will then send a link to the website to other people as well. It is a winning situation for visitors as well because they are not tricked into visiting a site that they don't want to visit or has no interest to them. Friends invite people they know and everyone is very happy with the entire situation without a single person being scammed and having to learn the hard way.
