Writing a Press Release: A Template for a New Product Press Release

If you are launching a new product then your press release should have the following components.

Introduction and Summary

Your press release should quickly introduce your company and state the reason for the press release. It also should quickly sum up the story that the rest of the press release describes. Think of an upside down pyramid with the most important news at the top and then the explanations of the details below.

An example introduction and summary;

Staffordshire UK. smARTebusiness, the UK based digital marketing agency, announced the release of their innovative 'Find Your Nearest' software. Customer's can now find where their nearest outlet is for a particular product by simply sending their postcode via text message.

Include a quote

Always try to include a quote from someone high up in your company or a customer. Quotes make your news piece seems more professional and new.

Announcing the new service, Mark Hammersley, Director of Operations for smARTebusiness said "The 'Find Your Nearest' software is a great tool for companies that have a large amount of outlets. It can be included in a TV or magazine advert so excited customers can quickly go out and buy the product.."

Explain why this is news

Explain why this is a piece of news and why this is interesting. Why should people take note? What problem does your service/product solve and why has it not been solved before? What has happened that you think people will want to know about.

The 'Find Your Nearest' software is the latest in a line of innovative mobile marketing products developed by the best in class PHP development team.
Ian Hammersley, Managing Director of smARTebusiness said
"This software is going to be a great tool for those companies that need to let customers know where they are stocking their products. The ingenious aspect about this product is that the text message is taken every where the customer goes reminding them about the great advert they saw about your product."

Tell People about Your Company

At the end of your press release if you have not already done so include information about your company. Describe the company culture and a brief paragraph on what the company is trying to achieve.

SmARTebusiness are part of the smARTstudios UK group of companies and specialize in promoting companies digitally through email, SMS, fax and online search.
SmARTebusiness clients cover a range of industries including fast moving consumer
goods, telecommunications, IT hardware, glazing and many more. SmARTmail information can be found at www.smartebusiness.co.uk

I hope you have found this information useful and I look forward to seeing your next press release on http://www.freepressreleases.co.uk
